1/10 Scale Low Speed Off-Road RC Wheel & Tire

I converted my old 1/10th scale RC street racer to electric and really wanted to run it off-road...enter the 3D printer! Simply print the wheel out of rigid plastic (i.e. PLA, ABS, Nylon) and the tire out of flexible, press together and go. Caution: these wheels/tires are no where near as strong as their commercial counterparts. Use only at low speed and with great care! If you like this project and wan't to learn more about making things with 3D printers, laser engravers and other cool maker-tech, check out my new book "The Makerspace Workbench" from Maker Media! Don't forget to follow me on Twitter! Instructions For the wheel: Print with up to 100% infill and supports for maximum strength and consistency. For the tire: Print using flexible filament, such as MatterHackers Soft PLA. Assembly: Apply a small amount of Vasoline to the inside edge of the tire. Align the inner ridges of the tire to those on the wheel and press together with even pressure. You should feel a satisfying "pop" indicating they are fully seated.
