1:100 Tank/Tank Turrets with Open Commander's Hatch (Flames of War)

thingiverse

A collection of tanks/tank turrets with their commander's hatches open, remixed from m_bergman's great 1:100 Tank pack. They are designed to be as realistic as possible (given the scale) while still allowing for Flames of War (or similar scale) commander figures/busts/bits/whateveryouwanttocallthem to fit in them. Current turrets/tanks available are as follows: United States: M4 Sherman (late) w/ M3 75mm gun M4A3 Sherman w/ M1 76mm gun M4A3E8 "Easy Eight" Sherman w/ M1 76mm gun M4A3 Sherman w/ M4 105mm howitzer/assault gun M5A1 Stuart (late) with protective shield/deflector for the .30 cal MG Figures used in pics for the above turrets are from the "USO198 Plastic American Tank Commander sprue" (available from the FoW online store) Soviets: T-34/85 obr 1944 (NOTE: since only half the cupola only opens up on this style of turret, fitting a commander figure into the opening may not work; I don't have any Soviet FoW commanders to test with. I'm working on a printable commander, but...yeah. Wish me luck with that, because so far I am seriously lacking in it. :-/ ) I will be updating this with new tanks/turrets as I design them for personal need. If anyone has specific requests, please feel free to contact me via the comments or PM with suggestions and I'll put it on my Things To Do With What Little Free Time I Have (As if I don't tell myself that the day before I start any new project, so it's somewhat of a meaningless statement at this point... ;) ) (Note: The M2HB .50 cal machinegun mounted on the Sherman turrets is located here: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1447064) Print Settings Printer: Fabrikator Mini v1.5 and Wombot Exilis XL (mostly the Fab Mini) Rafts: Yes Supports: Yes Resolution: 0.15mm or better is strongly suggested Infill: 25%-35% Notes: The models shown in the photos were all printed at 0.125mm or 0.15mm layer height, 0.3mm line width (out of a 0.4mm nozzle), with 5 or 6 top perimeters, 4 bottom, 3 side, 25%-35% infill, and rafts and supports. Since I'm sacrificing stability and ease of printing for realism, expect to have at least a few failures before you get your settings tuned in; YMMV, especially so if you're printing at worse resolution/line width. Update History 05/16/2016 - Added T-34/85 obr 1944 turret with open hatch
