1/4" hex bit holder for a DeWalt drill

<p>My DeWalt drill is so much better than the cheap one I had before, with one exception, there's no built in place to store the Phillips hex bit! 3D printing to the rescue!</p> <p>I'm not sure if this is a standard interface shared with other drill manufacturers or models, but it works on my DCD777. There may be other models out there, but I've been working on my CAD skills so I didn't bother to look too long.</p> <p>Besides the printed part, you'll need a M3x10 screw (anything between 8-12mm in length should be fine.) If the screw is too long it may inhibit insertion or removal of the battery.) I used a pan head, but there should be enough clearance for other types as well.</p> <p>It took a few tries to get the clearances correct, but the latest version (v8) seems to get it right.</p> <h3>Print instructions</h3><p>I strongly suggest rotating the print (as shown in the image) to maximize strength and improve sizing accuracy. I printed mine using a standard 0.2 mm layer height and otherwise default settings. No supports necessary. I used PETG since it's more flexible, thus more resilient in this type of application over PLA.</p>
