1/4 Inch Camera Screw (M3 Core)

1/4 Inch Camera Screw (M3 Core)

thingiverse

A strong printable 1/4'' camera screw, using an M3 screw as a core for strength! Will probably not be compatible with any off-the-shelf tripod, but can be used to design mounts of your own. **NOTE: You will need an M3 thread cutting tool for this.** **Features** * Strong, not prone to breaking once assembled. **Required Components** * 1x **M3x16 Screw** - This screw is used as a core for the 1/4'' printed screw. A longer screw is okay for use as well, depending on your application. * **M3 Thread Cutting Tool** - Without the core M3 screw, the 1/4'' screw is fairly fragile. You will need to use the cutting tool to gently prepare it for insertion. **Printing Instructions** * Print the screw as oriented with 0.1 mm layer height and 100% infill. **Assembly Instructions** 1. Cut the M3 thread into the printed screw using a thread cutting tool. Cut from the base towards the tip. **Go extremely slowly and gently.** The throat of the screw is quite fragile and can break easily. 2. Place the printed screw on one side of whatever camera mount you are designing. 3. Screw the M3 screw from the other side into the printed screw until it is flush with the top. I hope you enjoy, and if you have any questions or found some issues, be sure to comment! I will see what I can do! As usual, I have also included the Blender file in case you want to edit it further.
