1/48 scale Dassault Falcon 2000EX EASy

This is about a 1/48 to 1/47 scale model of a Dassault Falcon 2000EX EASy. I drew this in Sketchup, so the complex compound curves may not be perfectly smooth, but I think it looks ok. I printed with 3 wall thickness and 20% infill. Just print and glue together. Superglue would probably work, but I would recommend some type of solvent, that would actually 'weld' the parts together. For the wings and stabilizers, just print the file loaded, and then print an inverse copy for the other side. when the engines are bonded together, the pylon will need to be sanded for it to fit into the holes in the side of the fuselage. They should slide in all the way. Mine needed quite of bid of sanding. The fans (which are the only parts I didn't draw myself. Sorry but I really don't remember who I borrowed them from, but I did modify them a lot), should have a spacer about 5mm thick glued between them and the inside of the engine. If glued in as printed, they will be set back a little bit to far. Just do what looks good. The base is actually the Dassault logo. I used tiny screws to secure it the model, but a good solvent weld should be good enough. You also may want to add some weight inside the base to help keep it from tipping over. There are only about two files that you don't need to flip around. the fuselage parts and wings should print vertically, the stabilizers need to be laid flat (horizontal pointing up), and the fan needs flipped over. But I think most of you could have figured that out anyway. Oh well, have fun with it. How I Designed This One of my clients wanted a desk top model of this aircraft because he works on them. I used dimensioned 3 view drawings from the Falcon maintenance manual. This has been one of the most challenging things I have drawn using Sketchup. Compound curves are not my friend, so if you want to smooth it out, have at it. Custom Section
