When Building out my workshop I wanted speaker posts on the walls with wires installed behind the wall to avoid unsightly wires on the running all over my new workshop, I discovered Architraive sized Speaker posts, (https://www.amazon.co.uk/s?k=architrave+speaker+plate&ref=nb_sb_noss_2) however, there is no such thing as a dry lining/plasterboard box mounts for this size format .. Until now! Ideal for situations where you wish to use Architrave Size Plates/Switches without a surface mounted box or a metal back box (which are typically only used for brick installations, or unwieldy flanges.) Make your cutout as per the dimensions below and install the box without the clips, then simply install the clips and pull them forward slightly as you tighten the screws the clips pull against the backside of the plasterboard to secure your 1 gang architrave fitting, just like a regular dry lining plasterboard box! No Supports Required Technical info: Width 25mm Height 79mm Depth 30mm Rear Entry Hole 10MM Surface Thickness 3-18mm* Screw Fitting M3.5 Screw (Standard) This box should fit surfaces with a thickness 3-18mm thick (could also be used on sheet materials as well as plasterboard surfaces) NOTE: Pay attention to the print orientation outlined below it will help with fitting SAFETY FIRST: If you plan to use this for a switch or something carrying mains voltage then please do with care, the plastics used in Dry Lining boxes are made from flame-retardant thermoplastics In my case I printed in PETG which has a melting point of 230-250c which should be more than sufficient, if you do plan to use this for a Mains Voltage Switch I strongly advise you print with PETG or some other high-temperature plastic, if your application is low voltage or for Speaker posts then you do not need to consider this. Good Luck! and please if you do use this share your installations with me!
