The Apex Crystalline Basilisk The region around a Gemstone Dragon's lair is slowly encrusted in crystals, including the creatures that inhabit the area. Some are changed in more drastic ways. The Basilisk altered by the influence of a gemstone dragon grows drastically in size, large crystals grow out of it's back and tail. It's gaze now petrifies it's victims turning them into crystal instead of stone. The Apex Crystalline Basilisk is a huge monster that prowls the crystal encrusted lairs abandoned by gemstone dragons... or serve gemstone dragons as massive reptilian sentinels of their lair.
