100W LED/Lens Spacer

100W LED/Lens Spacer

thingiverse

This is a spacer I designed for the Chinese (and similar) 100W LED modules commonly found on Amazon and eBay, and accounts for the space between the LED mounting surface, commonly a heatsink, and the lens holder, commonly the 44mm lens holders. I didn't feel like buying spacers or filling the gaps with washers and/or nuts, so I designed and printed my own. As the shape and filename would suggest, this spacer has gone through a few revisions. The first was to accommodate and support the lens holder. Then notches were implemented for the solder tabs on the LED. Then finally, wire channels were added to tidy everything up. Just as with any other project out there, use at your own risk. I have not fully tested this. I've had the LED (100W) on as long as it took for the heatsink to reach 110F and I shut it all down. This took all of about 15 seconds, so I cannot guarantee any reliability with prolonged use. This was designed for a studio light which will be used in flash photography, which shouldn't generate that much heat at all. Use either M3 or 4-40 screws. Rotate it X:180 degrees and no supports required. This is my first upload. Enjoy!
