With the increased access to 3D printers and more student participatings in Team America Rocket Challenge (http://rocketcontest.org/), some 3D printed parts are showing up and more teams are looking for printed parts to use. I've created an STL file for rail guides to fit 1010 launch rails that will be available at the TARC Nationals. The attached model is sized to match a BT-80 tube size. You should be able to contour sand them to fit BT-70. Testing of the rail guides shows that with a properly mounted PLA print, you will destroy the body tube before the guide fails. Take the usual procedures for gluing plastic to paper. Use coarse sandpaper to contour sand the glue surface and remove surface residue. Be sure to lightly sand the body tube to remove the glassine layer (or the epoxy will just pop off). You can use a map pin to make a series of small holes (glue rivets) in the body tube to insure the epoxy has greater attachment. Stick a straight edge in the gap to align the guides. Print Settings Printer: Wanhao Duplicator i3 Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: .200 Infill: 100% Notes: I print them vertically to get the best profile, 12 at a time. How I Designed This I designed these using published dimension for rail buttons in Onshape. Made a sketch using the published dimension and then extruded to length.
