The "Tiny Planetary Gears Set" by aubenc impressed me, but I faced difficulties with the long screws. To resolve this issue, I redesigned the connecting system using D section rods printed lying down and spacers for proper positioning of ring gears. Although more parts are required, printing and assembly become easier. The ring gear has been modified to accommodate D section rods, while the crank design uses a left-hand thread for self-tightening when turned clockwise. Note that the sun, planetary, and ring gears must be printed at twice their standard size. Due to numerous tiny components, I may create a similar design for the original "Tiny Planetary Gears Set." However, scaling down might not suffice due to potential clearance issues; adjustments in the slicer may help. Printed in 2015, this set features D section rods requiring close sliding fits through ring gears and suggests printing one set first for fit checks before mass production.
