This is my desktop LED spot. It utilizes a high-powered 10W LED, a compact 40 x 40mm fan, and a reliable step-down controller. The LED panel is expertly designed for friction fit, eliminating the need for bolts or screws. This versatile LED can be operated from 12v to 24vdc, with a recommended voltage of 12vdc. I calibrated the voltage on the regulator while measuring the maximum amps drawn between the LED and the regulator, resulting in a max of 900ma. The heatsink used is a sturdy 36.2 x 30.2 x 15.2mm unit that I had readily available. The step-down controller can be easily sourced from eBay by searching for "LM2596s DC-DC Buck Converter Power Supply Step Down Module Voltage Regulator". The power switch employed is a robust Rocker 6A 230VAC SPST Locking model with a compact body size of 17 x 12 x 13mm. The high-powered 10W LED can be found on eBay by searching for "10w high power LED". The wire connecting to the supply is discreetly housed within the mount. To securely attach the stand to the LED box, four M3 x 6 self-tappers are used. Additionally, a M3 x 6 (or 8) caphead bolt can be employed, as the holes in the box measure 2.6mm and will allow for threading.
