Hammer head The tool’s point is missing. It has a massive body with a rectangular cross-section, a square butt and an oval socket for the wooden handle. The hammer is one of the main tools in the inventory of a blacksmith’s workshop, used for metal forging. Hammers, of different types, are very common among the findings in the Dacian fortress area of the Orăştiei Mountains.
