130mm Fumehood for CD/DVD motor - with origami ducting

I ended up widening the hole on the fan blades and using a gear for a tight grip. Several sizes are provided if you have issues editing the file yourself. Similarly, the motor mount was just a tad too large. One layer of electrical tape gave me a tight fit. The cord needs a way out of the housing. I printed (fan_mountcoupling-1) without a brim and the warping was enough to fit the wire. You could route yours under the end of the ducting or make a hole. ------------------- This is my attempt to make an improved fumehood for my soldering station. Each end is secured in a clamping bracket so you can take multiple vents and connect them by the holes. The main body of the fan is held together by four 50x2mm wood nails. I used Guymaker's fan design because it worked the best of any I've printed so far. With a 6v motor you can get almost 6 inches away from the fan before fumes start to escape. The ducting is a 520mm width (marked at 130mm intervals) plain sheet. I used a one sided "dragon's egg" fold on either side of the top and bottom because it forms nice sharp corners. The opposing ends are then joined and refolded together seamlessly. It would be possible to use other tessellations, like the herringbone fold.
