I really had to go for it … This bad boy is a filament print of the robot in mutible pices to combine to a 1,5m tall version.
This print is done with regular cheap PLA filament since it was intended to be painted from the very beginning.
Printing such larg models reveal some issues like warping and so on … when gluing the model together 1mm gaps have been to cope with. Splitting the model I directly in Prusa Slicer. Unfortunately modifying the split surfaces was not possible with the version I used. So I am currently working with the negative body functions in Prusa Slicer 2.4 Beta … and have to say, I love it.
The gluing was done with a combination of idustry quality 2K epoxy and super glue.

Compared to the original model I did one major change … the canon as right arm was a little bit bulky for that scale … so I decided to mirror over the left arm … it worked quite well … also done in Prusa Slicer …

This very robot originated in movie “A.P.E.X.” from 1994 (https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0109144/). I have a passion for robots since I was a kid.

This print I did on my MK3S. It took round about one month to finish the prints on my single MK3S … and I didn't have one single failed print on that model.

I attached the print files as well as the original model. I created GCODE files for both, 0,4mm and 0,6mm nozzle … At the end I used the 0.6mm nozzle … It used slightly more filament, but was way way faster (see LibreOffice Calc sheet for comparisment) … But be careful when using the 3mf files … you need to check whether the correct nozzle setting is applied.

The origin of the model is on Thingiverse by the member by Void-8065236. (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4780693).
The design was done by the artist “arvindkumar849”. His Fiver profile is https://www.fiverr.com/arvindkumar849. I am working this skilled guy as well.

Enjoy
