I purchased 3/4" (approximately ~18mm) metal washers from the hardware store for my 15mm miniatures and realized I needed something to cover the hole in the washer. So, I print the base topper and glue it to the washer. Then, when the miniature is painted, I slide the washer into the circular tray which should be printed in different colors per miniature or squad. It adds both polish to the final miniature as well as a way to tell different miniatures (skirmish) or squads (larger battles) apart from one another.
