Built a new gearbox for my old Subaru due to a noisy bearing and synchro slip.Tried using a double synchro gearset from a 1998 single range box in my older single synchro dual range box. Everything is compatible except for second gear. Pinions for 1st and second are machined into the input shaft, and the newer second gear (with double synchros) has a slightly different helix angle than the older single synchro gears.So I modified my old second gear to accept the newer double synchro assembly.The transmission has been running now for 6,000km with no issues.Gear dogs and teeth not modelled accurately (impossible using just verniers). They are there for context and as a modelling exercise.
