I have a vintage 1993 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo. Being it's age, there are some broken and missing parts. In this case, I was dealing with a broken cap for the coolant expansion tank under the hood. Being 26 years old, it had cracked and separated at the top surface. Previously, I used some metal duct tape to hold it together which worked but was ugly. I decided to try to do something about it since I am looking to sell it soon. I thought of making a whole new cap with threads but they are a little tough to measure so I decided to try to glued the cover back together using one of those UV liquid resin pens to hold the pieces together and then just make a cosmetic cover that could be attached over the original, thus making use of the existing threads. I did this and since I can print two color, I dressed it up a little....yes, I know it is not the official Jeep font and it is all in caps. This was printed top side down on a Ultimaker dual extruder S5 out of black and white ABS. Not sure how well they will do with the under hood and coolant temp heat but I know they will do better than PLA. There is a file for the cap and for the white inserts. You could always print just the cap part with the recesses for the ring and the letters. I used a flexible adhesive to glue the cover on the repaired cap. Caution: You should make your own decisions about using this under your vehicle hood and also what adhesive you use.
