#The First Rover on Mars! This is a model of the Pathfinder Mission Sojourner rover. Way back in 1997, this little "micro rover" made the first drive on the red planet. Though it was intended to serve as an experiment to see if NASA's expensive r/c toys could function on Mars, Sojourner exceeded expectations and collected thousands of pictures and data during its 85-day operation. On September 27 of the same year, contact was lost with Pathfinder and Sojourner, bringing an end to the mission four months later. However, the last confirmed command sent to Sojourner was to continue driving around the lander, which it may still be doing to this day... ___ I built this model to go with the Perseverance Rover model I've printed previously. Therefore, the model seen in the thumbnail is printed at 117.5%. Print larger or smaller if you'd like, but be warned- getting the suspension out of the supports without breaking is tricky. And finally, the "pins" where the suspension attaches to the rover may need to be sanded **/** cut down to fit. Wheels, suspension, camera bar, and spectrometer should be printed at 100% infill, the solar panel and main body at your choice infill. Please enjoy and post a make if you, well, made one!
