As with anything with threads, I recommend a .1mm layer. I tried .2 layers too and it worked, just not as well as the .1 layer version. 50% infill works well but you can probably get away with less. These work with the amazing bike racks made by 1up. This hollow bolt threads into the end of the Quik Rack, Super Duty, and Heavy Duty racks to allow for a length of rope or paracord to be passed through the bolt and tied around the release bar. I made this after seeing a video on youtube about a mod using something like this. I am just learning Fusion 360 so I knew creating this was well within my capabilities. This will thread into the holes at the rear end of the bicycle rack and I put some rounded edges to keep the wear down on the cord. 1up has an EZ Pull bar that is probably a much more solid solution, but this works well enough. I will be releasing a handle and bar attachment in the coming days/weeks so please follow me here for updates.
See the YouTube video by Colin Chilibeck here: DIY 1Up Bike Rack Release Handle.
Thread size is ½' - 13 UNC
