The hobbyist magazine Fine Woodworking (Winter 2018-2019, issue #272, pp. 43-47) reports that the DeWalt DWE6423 bags only 52.4% of dust it generates when using the OEM dust filtration bag, but collects 96.1% of the dust when used with a vacuum. This adapter connects the dust port of the DeWalt random orbit sander to a standard Ridgid-type 2½" dust collection hose fitting. It is a snug friction fit on the sander side, and tapered on the 2½" hose side. The adapter swivels in order to reduce the likelihood of dislodging the dust collection hose as you use the sander..
