2 Killer Whales

2 Killer Whales

I used a Kinect to scan a piece of art work that my wife wanted to have a smaller version of so she could put it on her desk at work. It came out remarkably well. Instructions I used a raft and scaffold to print this model. After the model printed I used a dremal with the fiber buffing wheel to remove any little pieces left by the scaffold, and to rough it up just a tiny bit. Then all that was left was to paint the model for her. I started with the white in the general area where I wanted it then outlined in black and then filled everything else in black also. it took three coats of paint in white and black to make sure that there was no plastic showing through. I then sprayed on three separate coats of KRYLON make it last, so that the paint would not be easily scratched off. Then it was done. took about 2 days. P.S. the model is huge in the .stl file. Select it and use the scale to largest size option and there you have it =)
