2" laser-fiber Collimator 90deg

Collimators from Thorlabs cost $1000's, we have designed one using a 90-deg parabolic mirror from Edmund Optics for about $500. Light from a fiber laser is introduced at the focal point on one leg, parallel collimated light up to 2" in diameter exits the other leg. See details below. The parabolic mirror does not need to be printed, since a gold-coated IR mirror from Edmund Optics was purchased. We printed it anyway, polished it with buffing compound (Blue Magic), and demonstrated functionality with green laser. Perhaps gloss spraypaint would make it even more reflective.
