Modeling: N. Bresch - IRAA Paris. Presented is a "machine" for randomly selecting judges and jurors in Athens, from the 4th to the 2nd century BCE. Known only through fragments and texts, including a description attributed to Aristotle. A marble stela, carved with an upper entonnoir and columnar grooves, equipped with a metal tube. Used with inscribed tablets bearing candidate names and white and black bronze cubes.
