### Updates 1. 3/10/2018 - Printed all needed components. Assembled and hooked up some temporary belt pieces along with grbl. It moved!. (~~Unfortunately the corexy system as shown on one of the 3d models will probably not work. I assumed that corexy was a similar system to the drafting board straight edge... it is for motion, not for maintaining a perpendicular edge to the sides. The rollers need to maintain the right angle on the center carriage (y axis for me).~~) Correction true corexy does work and maintaining perpendicular y axis, I added a set of pulleys and the machine stays square (1000mm x 600mm). The hbot configuration does not keep the y axis true but true core xy does. 1. Updated two parts, holes were a little difficult to get screws in, there was some extra material in one of the alignment extrusions. 1. Added unique parts for the tool carriage 1. updated the end brackets for dual idler pulley's, this corrects the y axis, using the pulley's keeps the axis perpendicular to the frame extrusions (drafting machine, corexy) The outer most pulleys on these brackets are elevated to allow the belts to pass each other. I am using a spacer on the shaft. 1. Added the small model of the assembly. Forgive the belts, they are a basic extrusion, not following a true path with the slightly upward angle. # XY Laser/Plotter Project I wanted to find cnc gantry that could be used as a plotter or laser engraver possibly large enough to cut/draw/etch on a 20"x30" sheet of foam core. I had some leftover 1meter and 600mm 2020 extrusions and opted to put together something similar to the anycubic delta printer i had used. With a light weight motion system, the derlin rollers should be sufficient for moving a laser around quickly and accurately. I like the lack of moving motors on the corexy motion systems. This project should be similar to hbot type of 3d printer xy motion with the belt layout and anchored at the middle carriage (not designed yet, probably just a paper clip for now.) ### Some objectives of this project are 1. Primary 1. Create a system to drive a laser etching diode and plotting pen (5500 mw diode available from previous project) 1. Size for 20"x30" work area 1. Use 2020 extrusions 1. Rollers in lieu of slides or bearings 1. 3d printed parts for ease 1. Accuracy over the length of belt 1. Cheap easy to get fasteners (inch) 1. Secondary 1. co2 tube upgrade? 1. Wall mountable 1. Electronics box integrated 1. Low part count I am currently in the process of building a roller xy plotter gantry loosely based on the remix of CoreXY Frame (v.2.0) by Lehaiver. I couldn't find any roller carriages similar to anycubic delta printer (pulley version) so I created this variant. It uses 2020 extrusions with derlin rollers. The stepper holder are the primary remixed item. I will post updates as this comes together. - [x] Layout main components - [x] Revisions to ensure belt alignment is straight - [x] Some components printed - [ ] All printing complete? - [ ] All electronic components available, can use grbl or marlin for motion control - [ ] Electronics test - [ ] HPGL? - [ ] Assembly - [ ] Fastener list? - [ ] Belt length - [ ] Smooth Rollers lieu of tooth pulleys for idlers - [ ] Confirm rigidity for the frame at the size desired
