MDD 1.3 Linear Rail Belt Adapter

MDD 1.3 Linear Rail Belt Adapter

thingiverse

This is a belt adapter for the PrinterMods Modular Direct Drive 1.3 plate installed onto an MGN12 linear rail. The linear rail installation moves the plate down and forward, causing the drive belt to no longer align with the belt clips on the plate. PrinterMods sells an adapter, as well as provides 3D-printable models, but this model improves on theirs in three key ways. First, it includes slots for M3 nuts, providing a stronger mount than the tapped plastic holes in the original design. Second, it includes a bumper to improve contact with the X-axis endstop, without having to relocate the endstop switch the way PrinterMods suggests, which is incompatible with certain aftermarket hotend shrouds like the HeroMe. Finally, there are chamfered reliefs on the belt slots, to avoid cutting into the belt once everything is tensioned. Print 100% solid.
