DISCLAIMER: I DID NOT CREATE THIS MODEL. THE TALENTED ARTISTS AT PLATINUMGAMES DID. I TAKE ABSOLUTELY NO CREDIT FOR THIS WORK. PROPERTY OF SQUARE ENIX. USED WITHOUT PERMISSION. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- UPDATE3 NOV. 19, 2017: hair is fixed and slightly simplified. included source BLEND and final BLEND (hair is subsurfed but body is not). could've saved a few polygons on the headband. eyeballs are 1xSS, the rest is 2xSS i think. made the upper 'cleavage window' wall thicker. forgot to edge crease the upper hair strands closest to the headband, but it shouldn't make any difference on the print. thank you for your patience. UPDATE2 SEPT.30.2017: -added pics of remodeled and sliced hair (last 2 pics). this head is from a different 2B model, but same approach will be applied. just a bit more tweaking w/ the tips/creases. UPDATE SEPT.30.2017: i figured out the hair. it wasn't really all that complicated. still testing a few things out, but it slices well... manual manifolds are key. letting netfabb or repetier do it in this case is a bad idea. here is the necessary workflow to fix the hair: 1) separate hair layers into discrete objects using SELECT LINKED FLAT FACES at ~160 2) SOLIDIFY 2D strands to add depth always keeping an eye on non-manifold edges 3) cap hair "tubes" to create solids never combine the hair into one object... leave them all separate, and export to STL w/ the rest of the model. now that i know what works i just have to tris-->quads before following those 3 steps. then subsurf and clean up and sharp points and its DONE. this model will be finalized soon. UPDATE: the body is pretty much finished. no manifold edges, everything is perfect. the hair on the other hand is a bit of a disaster. i might have to rethink/remodel it or try A2 hair if its easier to work with. i could also just 'solidify' the main hair and layer it somehow. fixed edges, smoothed gloves, connected parts resulting in 0 manifolds, added definition to bikini line, added more edge creases. -ripped from NieR:Automata -very early work... don't attempt to print it 2xSS already weighs in at a hefty 40MB. i'll have to figure out the best and most efficient way to smooth the model w/o going overboard. again, not anywhere near complete, i just wanted to piece it together and gauge filesize as well as printability.
