2nd Gen Chevy Volt Shifter Knob Clamp

2nd Gen Chevy Volt Shifter Knob Clamp

thingiverse

This is a clamp for the button on the shifter knob of a Gen2 Chevy Volt. It allows you to keep the car "ignition" on indefinitely (the default is to time out after 20-30 minutes). If you are camping, you might find it helpful to keep the Heater/Air Conditioner/WiFi Hotspot/12 volt charging system active for a long time. The is an alternative to other, more cumbersome methods of doing this (i.e. hefty rubber bands) WARNING: this bypasses an important safety features. 1. It may cause your car to start its engine many times, emitting harmful amounts of carbon monoxide. Never use this when the vehicle exhaust is in an enclosed space. 2. With clamp on, the shifter lock is disabled, allowing the shifter to move to "drive" or "reverse" by merely bumping it. Due to the Chevy Volt's "creep" feature, the vehicle WILL move if drive modes are engaged by moving the shifter, potentially causing harm to people or property. In short, know exactly what you are doing if you are using this.
