<p>I needed something to help organize my garage and basement. And so I made these little hangers that can grab on to a 2x4s (and additional sizes) and have a little hook at the front. Since my intention for these hooks will be for my garage and basement, I felt comfortable printing quite a few of these in PLA. My climate does not get to a point where warping is an issue, so I also do feel comfortable having them outside.</p><p>I have tested these for a few weeks with some spare weights I wasn't using at the time and they held around 20-25 pounds (~9kgs). I'm not intending to ever reach those weights, so my hooks only use 20% infill and 4 perimeters. I feel confident with them holding around 15 pounds (~6.8kgs). You could increase the infill and perimeters for added strength if your use will need that. Hopefully, this video I made can describe how to change the dimensions of the hook based on your needs. I've made hooks to hang on 1x4, 2x4, and 4x4 pieces of wood, but if you need it to hang on a different size or you want a different arm length on your hook. you can change both of those pretty easily by changing dimension parameter in FreeCad.</p><figure class="media"><oembed url="https://youtu.be/CGPYZga3-bU"></oembed></figure>
