I made this to convert the 1/4-20 UNC thread from the top of a light stand to a 3/4" PVC fitting. I screwed this to the top of the stand and put a PVC Tee fitting on it with 3/4" PVC pipe extended horizontally in each direction in order to hang a backdrop for Coronavirus Zoom calls. I can envision other instances where connecting PVC to a tripod might come in handy.
