A fully mechanical ventilator made out of composite resins and wood. Different parameters like the Respiratory rate, tidal volume, I: E, etc. are controlled by a three-link mechanism which compresses a self-inflating bag and produces oxygen and air mixture to the patient in desired parameters. There will be a disk operated at different speeds and disks of various surface areas can be used to maintain all the parameters simultaneously. Those disks will be pumping the self-inflating bag. This result will also be verified through simulation to check if everything is within the limits. To change the speeds, we use a timing belt and a continuously variable transmission. This requires 3d printing technique and carpentry techniques and once furbished perfectly, it is estimated to take very less time i.e. 15-20 mins to manufacture one model. And the material used would be wood or resin. In addition to this there will be safety mechanisms like apnea backup kick-in, pressure control to make sure that there would be no chance of an accident. There might be a very minute use of electronics to make sure the safety is not compromised. Hope this doesn’t get to the regulatory issues.
