3-Spool: Wire spool holder

I needed something on my wall to store wire spools so that I would have easy access to wire. I made this holder to suit the wire spools that I have.

The spool holder holds 3 wire spools that measure 90mm diameter and 43mm thick. The diameter of the rollers is 30mm.

Printing:

In mine the rollers are printed in black PLA+ and the holder is printed in black PETG (The only reason for the two different materials is that I ran out of PLA+ after printing the rollers.)

To make sure that the nubbins on the end of the rollers stick firmly to the rollers, I print the nubbin at 100% infill but everything else is printed at 20% infil but I'm sure it would do just fine at 10% or 15% but it just wasn't much extra time or plastic to do 20% and I wanted to make sure the part was strong so I went with that. I used the Gyroid infill don't think there was a reason (I probably should have researched the strongest infill but the parts seem really strong and gyroid looks cool when it's printing :)

The PETG (Tinmorry) is printed at 240C with the bed heated to 90C
The PLA+ (Sunlu) is printed at 220C with the bed heated to 80C

After the rollers are printed (They are printed in two halves to save you needing supports) they need to be glued together. I just put a little superglue between them and I clamped them together while the glue cured (just a few minutes). I have tried to break them in half again by hand and I can not, so I am happy with the results..

Print Settings

Printer Brand:

Prusa

Printer:

I3 MK3S

Rafts:

Doesn't Matter

Supports:

Yes

Resolution:

200

Infill:

20

Filament:
Sunlu/Tinmorry PLA+/PETG Black

Notes:

The PETG (Tinmorry) is printed at 240C with the bed heated to 90C
The PLA+ (Sunlu) is printed at 220C with the bed heated to 80C

Category: Tool Holders & Boxes
