This device helps keep hair spray, dust and other contaminants out of your fan. The filter media is larger than the 30MM fan to provide more filter surface area and less air flow restriction, even as it begins filling up. This air filter housing slips over your 30MM Fan, requiring no tools or screws. It DOES require you to purchase a piece of aquarium poly filter element, approximately 1/4 inch or 4-5MM thick, available from your local aquarium store. Cut the poly to 43MM x 49MM with scissors. The poly element fits into the filter housing snugly and pulls right out for cleaning. Wash out the dirty filter element in warm soapy water and squeeze it out before replacing. NOTE: Observe the UP arrow. The "short" side of the filter goes on the bottom for maximum printer bed clearance and visibility.
