35mm DIN Rail - Parametric

thingiverse

I want to mount my 3d printer electronics more neatly. Lots of DIN rail mounts available in thingiverse, but none for DIN Rail. I don't need an entire length of metal DIN rail, so why not? Updated: Improved the rail profile, and stored it separately. This profile is a shade smaller and has chamfered corners both for strength and to make it fit better. The alignment keys on either side are now slightly different sizes to make them fit better. I tried to make it customizer compatible, but the DXF import didn't work. From other tests, I do recommend printing vertically with a big brim. Instructions These print vertically, and they have alignment tabs so you can make a rail out of many small sections easily. Download all the files into the same directory. The openscad file has parameters for the length of each section (which has one mounting hole) and the number of sections to stick together. This is a very rudimentary plan - I have access to real din rail mount things at work - I will see how well they mount, or if I need to add cut out a bit of tolerance space, and rounded edges.
