I have a LED headlamp that uses 3 AAA batteries. Whenever I travel or camp with it, I bring a spare set of batteries. Here is a durable case for storing 3 AAA batteries, derived from my AAA Battery Box. Friction fit lid holds batteries safe and secure in a gear bag, backpack, or wherever you choose to stash it.

Print instructions

Category: Electronics Print Settings

Printer Brand: Prusa

Printer: i3 MK3

Resolution: .30 layer height

Infill: 20% gyroid

Filament: Prusa PETG Black
Notes:

Filament can be any brand, any color. Also works great in PLA.

Lid and body sliced together for printing at same time, takes 1 hour 8 minutes, and uses just under 21 grams of filament on my printer, with settings above.

In your print settings, try different options for Seam Position to see different patterns you can get with the 'z seam' or 'zipper.'

How I Designed This

Designed in Fusion 360. Using the AAA Battery Box I designed previously as the starting point, simply edited the first sketch to add a line where I wanted to cut the model. Then edited the first extrusion to only include the portion required. Finally, fixed the mirror plane to the new face to mirror from. Aside from re-centering the text on the lid, and reducing the cutout a touch to the narrower profile, that was it!

Related Design

See also: C Battery Box.

See also: AAA Battery Box for four AAA batteries.

See also: AA Battery Box for three AA Batteries.
