A 3D printed Christmas 2016 from RS Components - Southampton!https://www.rs-online.com/designspark/a-3d-printed-christmas-from-rs-southampton Because of its large print size (>30cm in height), the model was split in half to accomodate the MakerBot Z18's build space and for a stable support structure. Modifications and STL generation were done inside DesignSpark Mechanical Download the software for FREE here: http://goo.gl/kOxa59 Print Settings Printer Brand: MakerBot Printer: MakerBot Replicator Z18 Rafts: Yes Supports: Yes Resolution: 200 micron Notes: 1.2kg filament used - Makerbot white PLA (1.75mm) Post-Printing Support structure removal To carry out the finishing the following tools were used and are readily available at RS Components: Trimming knife Small pliers Small cutters Mini file set The ideal tool to use for finishing however is a Dremel/micro power tool as the attachments allow you to get into all the small spaces you may not be able to reach using basic hand tools. How I Designed This This 3D model of the Christmas tree is a remix of the design by '21chies' at 123D projects (http://www.projects.123dapp.com/123D_Design/Christmas-Tree/4855811)
