The original dream catcher filtered out bad dreams and let the good dreams pass through and down through the feathers... This is a 3D dream / idea catcher to filter out bad 3D ideas and let the good ones through to filter down through the 3D shapes to create in the future.... Each part is separate so can rotate independently to make it a truly '3D' dream catcher. The parts include all the primary geometric shapes used in 3D design/modelling and (from the outside in) as follows: Circle Octagon Hexagon Pentagon Rectangle (Square) Triangle The additional parts that string on the bottom represent: 3 x Tubes / Pipes / Cylinders Cone Pyramid Assembly required. Instructions WARNING: This print creates a fun hanging / decoration but needs to be assembled with thread so some patience is required to string up the completed 3D dream catcher. On a Replicator 2 use Raft, 4 shells and at least 30% fill. The Raft should brake away easily leaving clean parts to assemble. Refer to the images to see how the 3D dream catcher needs to be strung together. Main Parts: Run thread down through the top of the circle. passing through the octagon, hexagon, pentagon, rectangle and into the triangle. The base of the triangle allows the thread to be fed bag up through a hole on the reverse side (180 degrees opposite) and back up through the parts and out the top. Allow at least 30cm / 12" at the top and tie the two ends together securely ready for hanging. Tie on the additional 5 pieces at the base of the dream catcher by running thread into one side of each part at the top and back out the other side. As there is no bottom opening on the cone and pyramid getting the thread back out the opposing side is fiddly. The easiest way is to insert he thread on one side then use a twist tie or similar object to push the thread through the channel. Once over half way through the channel use a needle to snag the thread and pull it up and out the second side. Tie off the thread at the top of each part then string onto the main part by tying with the single thread onto the lugs provided. The tying is a manual process that may be a bit time consuming (due to the small holes) until you work out an easy way to do it. The above suggested process works well on a 3D Dream Catcher printed on a Replicator 2. Last step... have a good nights sleep catching lots of innovative 3D design ideas!
