When building this plane I got to the spot of ordering the motor. The recommended motor was over $40!!! I cam across the DYS motor for under $20, DYS D3542, so I bought it. When I received the motor, I didn't realized that the motor mounts from the back and not the front like the recommended motor. So I designed this new motor mount. After many tries I came up with this version. I feel it is far superior to the old design. It has many good attributes 1. The motor doesn't directly touch the plastic mount, less issues with heat. 2. There are numerous mounting points to the hull of the plane with the ability of the glue to be used at many interfaces. 3. Ability to use a cheaper motor. 4. Still can remove the motor from the hatch. 5. forces of the motor pulling forward still doesn't tug on the screws 6. Printable without supports. 7. Designed for use of inserts for the screws Hopefully this will be helpful for someone.
