I live on the island of Shikoku, specifically in Kagawa Prefecture, Japan. There's a very famous "Shodoshima" olive farm that attracts visitors from all over the world. I also have the pleasure of coexisting with numerous monkey species native to the region, including adorable capuchin monkeys who love to interact with me! As an enthusiast for learning about small animals, I had the opportunity to research and eventually recreate one in a 3D model series. To my surprise, our similarities in behavior made me realize that some monkey species are still remarkably close to humans in terms of their habits and social interactions. For example, capuchin monkeys often carry tools or objects in their tails, similar to how we use hands for the same purpose. I decided to highlight this intriguing connection by designing a necklace with a pendant shaped like Kururi's tail – showcasing the monkey's natural resourcefulness and closeness to our human world.
