<p>This is a base used to hold a 3mm thick acrylic plate for a 3D night light. The opening on the top is 28 mm wide and the recommended depth is 10mm.</p> <p>NOTE: This is just a base, does not contain the acrylic part.</p> <h3>Print instructions</h3><h3> Assembling the parts</h3><ol> <li>Print both the bottom and the top parts. </li> <li>Use a soldering iron to insert brass threaded inserts to the top part. The model is designed for M3 screws. </li> <li>Add 3 segments of a LED strip to the base. (You can use 1 or 2 segments if you don't want the light that bright.) </li> <li>Use M3 screws to screw the top and the bottom part to each other.</li> </ol> <h3> Creating the acrylic plate</h3><p>Design a pattern for the acrylic part and scale it so the mounting width does not exceed 28mm. Use a jigsaw to cut the outer form from a 3mm acrylic plate, then a rotary tool (e.g. Dremel) to carve the pattern.</p>
