Have you ever needed an extra bike brake? Unless you modify/work on bikes or you are me, it seems unlikely. Here's a good idea: ditch the boring brakes and print out your own!!! Only the Left Side (front brake) for now, but do let me know if anyone wants a reversed version. This is a modification of a brake assembly found online! UPDATE 4/23/14: I have added configurations for both left hand and right hand brakes Brake Lever has been optimized to print flat on the build plate, as recommended by yzorg. No support needed! UPDATE 12/17/14: Added strengthening rib feature to the connector part. This is intended to reduce flexing when the brake lever is pulled. Let me know how it works! Instructions 80% infill works great for both parts. See updated model, the lever can now be printed on its side to optimize layer orientation as suggested by users. Print the connector with the face of the handlebar mount flat on the build plate (see other picture). Connector designed to fit on a 0.875" diameter handle bar. The handlebar mounting bolt is an M3 x 16. For the other hardware, anything that fits should be fine. I recommend embedding two M3 square nuts during the print of the connector to ensure the M3 bolt stays put when you do install on your bike.
