When seen close-up, it seems like it is just a bunch of random lines... But back up a bit, and you'll see the image that it forms. I got the idea from image-to-ASCII art (Google it to find out more...) The idea behind it is that differing line densities in each block produce a different gray-scale color when seen from far away. The image was first converted to a 50x50 pixel gray-scale image, and then converted to the line blocks. There is no STL file, as it was directly scripted to GCode using Python. I actually just want to share my idea with you. If you would like to find out more, please contact me. The script is not very user friendly yet, but it there is enough interest, I am willing to neaten up the code and distribute it.
