Update: 6/20/2021 (v3) - Added a recessed "V" to the top plate to make it easier to slip cards in. - Made the thumb notch in the divider smaller to better divide the rear and front compartments https://a360.co/3iWcg4A ------------------------- This is a remix of the MLE wallet -- shoutout to the creator for a great design platform! The 3D design for this can be viewed at [https://a360.co/3zi4RCG], and the Fusion 360 design export is attached. This is a minimalist wallet that works by holding your credit cards/cash between plates of plastic, and allows you to push them out through a notch at the bottom. It is held together by an elastic strap that needs to be added post-printing. It can be assembled with either one or two compartments by use of an optional divider -- the rear compartment is meant for infrequently used and higher security cards/cash, because they are harder to remove from the rear compartment, and therefore more secure. The original design included add-on mods to adjust the size of the wallet. Mods were a great idea, but in practice I found the mods add bulk/complexity and and make it harder to access some contents, so I eliminated the mod-related things from the design. I realized that instead of mods, the size of the wallet could be customized during printing by scaling the Z axis -- see below for details, The main modifications I made to the design are: * I generally "debulked" the design, making the thicknesses/widths slimmer, but hopefully still robust enough to hold up * The bar along the bottom edge under the thumbhole was removed, because it obstructed the ease of removing some cards * The thumbhole was made smaller for added strength and a to make it more streamlined in the pocket * I removed the vents on the side edges ( I could not figure out their purpose) * In the original presentation, it was not obvious how this wallet was assembled or used, so I added some pictures/links to clarify. Customizing the Wallet Size During Printing By default the wallet holds 5 cards and 6 bills with 2 compartments, but this can be easily modified during printing. To do so, when slicing the file for printing, scale the Z-axis only to the desired size based on the formula below. Do NOT proportionally scale the print, you want to resize the Z-axis only. The following formula will give you a pretty good estimate of the size to use (in millimeters): 1.3 x ( [number or credit cards] x 0.8 + [number of cash bills] x 0.4 + 1.2 [if using the divider] + 1.4 )
