3D Printed Multi-material Valve

3D Printed Multi-material Valve

grabcad

A simple 3D printable proportional valve for microfluidics. Multi-material based, this valve allows for a combination of flexible and stiff materials to provide a control-able valve while maintaining device structural integrity elsewhere. Increase membrane (flexible material) thickness to tune flow rate at a given control pressure. PolyJet, multi-material, or binder jetting 3D printing methods are recommended to create the valve in a single print.Dimensions: 28 x 5 x 5.3 mm. This specific model: 800 µm fluid channel, 800 µm control channel, 300 µm membraneMaterials:Publication recommended: Stratasys TangoPlus (FLX930, flexible) and VeroWhitePlus (RGD835, stiff).Inspiration/reference: Keating, Oxman, et al., 3D Printed Multimaterial Microfluidic Valve, http://journals.plos.org/plosone/article?id=10.1371/journal.pone.0160624Available files (in the zip folder):Import with millimeter dimensionsSTLIGES/IGSSTEP
