The 836 million people living in extreme poverty is something some of us will never have to see but something as basic as reliable footwear shouldn't be a problem then it is now. 3D printed shoes is a practical solution, it's cost-efficient, environmentally friendly and easier to produce. The technology of 3D printing is becoming cheaper and becoming more practical for applications like shoes. 3D printed shoes can be recycled when worn out and used to make more shoes. The cost of 3D printing shoes is nothing compared to the cost of pollution that is caused by textile factories. These shoes won't need gas or water to produce, it can be taken further and could use solar energy. Something as small as shoes can make all the difference in a young child's life. My vision is to produce the most eco-friendly shoe to make the lives of people in third world countries better and make it accessible for any child or adult. My first design was supposed to be some type of running shoe but my skills in computer aided draft was great. I started a new design and it came out much better but I still wasn’t satisfied with the shoe so I design the Slip on’s with laces which was much nicer. I still haven’t perfected the setting for the flexible filament I was using but if I had something like Ninjaflex it would be less rigid than the one I used.
