3D Printed Stock Charts

This is more of an application of 3D printing rather than a design, but I thought of this when thinking of uses for 3D printing from the perspective of a non-materialistic business. Although this is more of a novelty, it could have legitimate uses. For example, in a meeting, a printed stock chart could be passed around to show when a stock was bought, sold, etc. The design could even be modified to show how it was expected to rise and fall. Again, I acknowledge that this is not the most practical use, but I did this as an experiment to find applications for 3D printing; even if they are not the most realistic. In the "Instructions" section, I've included directions on how I went about making the charts into 3D printable models. I also included an example of Apple stock over the past five years. Instructions Step 1: Find a stock chart. Screencap it, download it, whatever you have to do to get it in picture form. Step 2: Open it in your picture editor of choice. I used Gimp. Step 3: From there, change the line of the graph and everything below it to the color black. Then change everything above the line to white. Step 4: Load it into this 2D to 3D thing: (https://www.shapeways.com/creator/2dto3d#landing). Step 5: Once you've done the last step, click "download model" and open it in Nettfab Basic (The 2D to 3D converter exports as an .x3db file, which only Nettfab can open.) Then export as a .stl. Step 6: Print it! I'd recommend high resolution.
