A Strandbeest is a wind-powered kinetic sculpture by Dutch artist Theo Jansen. Since 1990, Jansen has been designing different Strandbeests and letting them loose on the beaches of the Netherlands. The Strandbeest is a mechanical mimesis with PVC pipe instead of bones, plastic tubing instead of veins, with plastic bottles and sails instead of muscles. Of course, this 3D printable Strandbeest only uses hand power or walks when going down a slope. Print Settings Printer Brand: Formlabs Printer: Formlabs Form 2 Rafts: No Supports: Yes Resolution: 0.1 mm Infill: 50-100% Notes: For the least amount of printing time, rotate strandbeest so it's legs are facing up. then add supports. Also, scale the part down to 0.55/55% of it's original size. (I forgot to mention this but it would best be printed with an SLA printer or an extremely precise printer due to all of the small moving parts). if you only have an FDM printer, then you could try to print without support in some places, but I am not 100% sure it will work.
