I had a very old, very cheap, very busted pair of sunglasses. I wanted them to live again - so I popped out the lenses and breathed new life into them! Instructions Salvage some lens from a very old, very cheap, very busted pair of sunglasses. You will need to trace the shape of the lenses and create a DXF for extrusion in OpenSCAD, the provided SVG shows how I did it (remember to convert the lines to straight edges before exporting to DXF). Note: I use 1/10mm as my base unit. Run the OpenSCAD provided (you will almost certainly need to tweak the locations of the hinges, nosepiece and lens holders). Print the pieces on a 3D printer. The lens frame fit on one print, the arms on two separate prints. I had success both with and without supports for the lens frames : in fact the droopy plastic made for a springy holder piece that gave a better fit. Do some filing and tidy up the hinge pieces (make sure to file out the holes so the screw can slide easily). Tidy any other parts that look ratty while you're at it. Assemble: each hinge takes a 0.5x16 screw and a 0.5 nut. The nut sits in the middle of the four hinge pieces. Don't over tighten unless you like breaking stuff you haven't finished putting together! [Optional] I found that putting some Moleskin on the nose pieces made them more comfortable - I would assume anything soft and adhesive would do the job also. Walk around and look good.
