This is mysecond iteration of a wii remote controlled mecanum robot. It's powered by an ESP32, 3S drone lipo, and uses a Nunchuck and Wiimote. It's probably my most complicated use of circuitry with a custom soldered perfboard (can't design PCBs at the moment).I won't provide instructions, but I will provide a parts list. If anyone decides to build this, it should be considered a work-in-progress, as an unknown glitch in the code causes it to disconnect from the wii remote within 30 seconds to a few minutes of using it.Required components:- https://bit.ly/3bcxJmc (4x, motor)- https://bit.ly/3oilDLZ (battery)- https://bit.ly/3hNVHVS (regulator for ESP32)- https://bit.ly/3pSMmPD (2x, motor controller)- https://bit.ly/2XaIzAO (mecanum wheels, only rollers are required as custom 3D printed hubs work much better)- Generic ESP32 devkit moduleNote that the LEDs on both sides--although super cool--don't work while driving since electromagnetic interference from the motor power wires disrupts the WS2812b signal wires. You can see this is the case in the YouTube video, when a few of the pixels flicker different colors as I drive it around. I think this could be solved with shielding of both the motor wires and the LED wires, but I don't have time to fix that right now.The ESP32 code is uploaded using the Arduino IDE. My code is not commented but isn't too complex either. There are two cores being used, one for the LEDs, and one for the Wii remote data handling and motor signals, everything else is pretty straightforward.
