3D Scanner Resolution Test Artifact

People constantly ask if one 3D Scanner is better than another. Users can often look at two 3D scans and say which one has better detail. Unfortunately vendors don't typically show how they get their Accuracy and Resolution Specifications. Often the test equipment is expensive and not something easily found by a consumer. In previous videos we have shown how to use simple step-blocks, 1-2-3 blocks, Billard Balls, and Flat plates to check accuracy. Here we have come up with a simple artifact that can be 3D printed. It can be checked with a caliper for accuracy. It can then be used to determine what a 3D scanner can resolve. Accurately resolving sharp edges is important for Reverse Engineering.
