3D Systems Cube 3 Retrofit

3D Systems Cube 3 Retrofit

I'm in the process of retrofitting a Cube 3 printer that I was given, nonfunctional (someone tried to unlock the firmware for nonstandard filament and managed to brick the board). So far, I have mounted an E3D v6 clone and the screen. I'm planning to use a RAMPS 1.4 and a RepRap Full Graphic Controller. Eventually, the plan is to use an Xbox 360 power supply I modified to keep the mains power contained. For me, the extruder mount is just about perfect. No play whatsoever, super solid. The screen pieces could use some help. There is no clearance in the dovetail because I didn't want to waste the filament on test prints, so I made them both full dimension and just sanded to get the fit I want. The mounting holes on the print don't exactly match with the holes in the screen, but it's close enough. I think the model I downloaded and designed around was a smidge off. I had to do some heavy modification to the inside of the ScreenFront part by hand because the area around the encoder interferred pretty bad. I believe it should be fixed in the file now, but I haven't reprinted it yet.
